so i'm driving home from the barn last night. actually i was driving to michelle's house to deliver some things i made for the wedding. i was going a different way home since i was actually going to michelle's house, and it was really dark. i hit a really bad pothole, and immediately i'm pretty sure it popped my tire. i get out of my car, and although it's totally dark in the middle of nowhere it's pretty evident that my tire has seen it's last day. shit!

so the first challenge is getting all the tools out of my car, and figuring out where that rod thing goes into the jack. while i'm trying to do that 3 people come right up next to my car and don't ask to help. f you guys. p.s. my phone is running out of batteries, and my riding teacher who does live close by is definitely going to be on her horse for the next hour i just left her.

here's where you might get mad. so then this guy pulls up right next to me, and offers help. now, i'm super grateful for this man's kindness, but as he gets out of the car, i think to myself that if i ever had a mental picture of someone that wanted to rape and/or murder me it is probably this guy. i really needed my tire fixed, but man, this makes me nerdvous in a big way. (note: i was trying to find a picture to kind of illustrate how creepy this guy was, but i couldn't find one that did him justice. he was a backwoods redneck, cold eyes, missing a front tooth- not a joke, wearing a baseball cap).

don't worry there's more. so dave (the man that offered to help) answers a phone call, and refers to our location but does not mention that he is helping me or what he is doing. probably someone just asked where he was, but i was kind of creeped out. so immediately i started texting people i had a flat tire out by the barn so in case i went missing they could at least find me. eeeeeep. so then he starts picking the tools up from the ground, and he picks up this long metal spear shaped object, which must have been on the road before either of us got there. and he's like what's this for? and i'm like AHHHH OBVIOUSLY YOU BROUGHT THAT TO MURDER ME. but instead i cooly took the spear from him and was like huh, must have been on the road, and i moved it right next to my right hand behind me and far away from him. good work loutoo.

then as he's talking to me i realize i can smell alcohol on his breath. sweet. probably people make good decisions when they're drunk. finally, he says while he's in the middle of fixing the tire, you know i don't mind helping. girls like you don't want to be on the side of the road in the dark at night by themselves. uhhhhhh. thanks mister that's really reassuring that we're both thinking this. i'm pretty sure this is the part in the scary movie where you grab my arm and stuff me into your backseat.

anywho, turns out he put the spare on in no time, said it was his good deed for the month, and drove away. phew. thanks dave!

weekend recap

new news:
- got eliminated in horsey show with patrick
- got my kitchen table back
- saw the series finale of 6 ft under. life changing.
- erica my friend at work who i have lunch with every day got engaged. it's a little surprising cause they've only been dating 5 months. they set the date for august 2009. eeeeeek! but great.
- last night i woke up because there was a hail storm. for real god?

- michelle and andy get married sunday. andy- the loutoo's are kind of a nutty bunch i feel a little bad for you that now you will be related to us but mostly i'm so so so excited.

this weekend i was driving to return this rental truck in the most scary part of dc i've ever been in. on the way home we passed a church that had a sign out front that said "welcome all sinners." i liked that. but i was too scared to stop and take a picture, mostly because it only further confirmed that i was in the midst of lots and lots of sinners.

sometimes my job makes me really nervous because i write all the checks and no one really checks my work. like today i wrote a check for $1650.00 and when i got to the typewriter i was like was that $1650 or $1605. Shit. I hope it's $1650.

sometimes at work i get really annoyed when our clients don't speak english. i hate myself for getting so annoyed but it's really frustrating all day long. then today i got this email and it just filled me with love. truthfully i have no idea what he's talking about, but what a cute sweet man. i'm so glad he found us in america. here's to you, garang bol. thanks for handling ever-things.

friday afternoon blues

well it's friday. the week has been long. my bones are aching. my eyes are half shut. my ears are enjoying a lovely mellow twangy station on pandora: old hat by ben kweller. give it a try it just took me down a notch or three.

tonight's plans: make sweet love to dante. once he falls asleep, sneak away and ride this other horse, patrick. we have to practice cause i'm taking him to a show next week. but shh dante doesn't know yet, and i have to break the news softly. he gets jealous when he sees me with other man horses. then- bed. forever. at least until the morning.


p.s. i think this music is making me high. and i think i like that. what are our feelings about being high at work? just wondering.

so i was kind of thinking that magnet was really flattering, until i decided i wasn't 100% sure what sow your wild oats meant. apparently it means this:

my mom got this oversize magnet for me in chinatown. i'm mildly obsessed. with wild oats that is.

tattoo

last night i met chris (ex-bf) for drinks. not the chris i dated in college. the one i dated right before kosta. preface: i was never that into him, we were together a year or so but there are conflicting stories about which parts of this year we were actually together, i guess for parts of it i liked him, but i was his only serious girlfriend ever and it wasn't even that serious, and he was a door-to-door verizon internet salesman for this pyramid scheme.

setting: we met for drinks in g-burg. sweet, cause i won't have to drive far to get home, and i don't have to sleep on someone's couch. we meet at bailey's, which is your regular sports bar in the burbs.

storyline: lots of margaritas so the conversation kept flowing. he was supposed to leave to see his current girlfriend (who is 20- he is 27- who he plans to break up with while he is in town this week). he never left to see her, and instead we had dinner and a few too many drinks.

the kicker: so pretty much we just caught up. talked about our current dating lives, families, the usual catching up topics. it was surprisingly fun, i think mostly because i didn't care at all so i was very candid. so at one point he says while he is in town he wants to get his tattoo. so naturally, i ask what tattoo he is going to get. WELL he is getting a tattoo that will take up half his back, which is a cross and around the cross is a rosary, and around the rosary is.....drumroll......the initials of everyone who has had a serious impact on his life and has helped to make him who is is today. and he told me my initials will be included. EEEEEEEEP!

conclusion: we said goodbye and he tried to convince me i should meet him out friday night. i said maybe but i didn't mean it.

be honest- you're jealous a man has not tattooed your initials into his back?
